This walkabout dulcimer is tuned CC-GG-CC. The third pair of strings are an octave apart, just like the four lower pairs on a twelve string guitar. The other two pairs are tuned exactly the same, just like on a mandolin or the top two pairs on a twelve string guitar. The fingering of the chords is just like on a mountain dulcimer.
